Nominations Committee

Recruits candidates and runs a fair election process.

MISSION

Make sure every elected office has qualified candidates and that elections are fair, open and run by the bylaws.

WHO SERVES

Chaired by the immediate past president, with one member from each region. The president is not a member of this committee.

Core responsibilities

  • Receive nomination forms for all offices being elected, including online forms received between conferences
  • Convene on the first day of the conference where elections take place
  • Prepare a slate of eligible members for each office
  • Report the nominations received and present eligible candidates at each business session
  • Accept nominations from the floor before its final report
  • Elections take place after the committee's final report and before the conference adjourns
