FUNDRAISING

Association Apparel Store

Sell shirts, hats and gear with your association's logo online — with no platform or card-processing fees — and turn every order into support for your members.

POWERED BY ZEFFY

A free store built for non-profits

We build association stores on Zeffy, a fundraising platform made for non-profits. Here's what it gives your association:

Keep 100% of every sale

No platform fees, transaction fees or credit-card processing fees. Zeffy is funded by optional tips from buyers, so the full purchase price goes to your association.

Sizes, colors and stock

Add each item with photos, a short description and price, then offer size and color options. Inventory counts down automatically as orders come in, and you can cap quantities per item.

Shipping or pickup

Buyers choose shipping or pickup at checkout. Set a flat shipping rate, or offer pickup at drill weekend, a unit visit or your state conference with your own pickup instructions.

Easy, mobile-friendly checkout

Members can pay by credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or bank transfer from any phone, and receive an automatic email receipt.

Built-in giving

Buyers can add a donation on top of their order. You can also run discount codes, by percentage or dollar amount, and take pre-orders before you buy stock.

Sell online and in person

Embed the store on your website, share a link or QR code by email and social media, and take payments at events with Zeffy's Tap to Pay app.

Simple for your volunteers

Every order lands in one dashboard. Mark orders as not fulfilled, ready or fulfilled, and buyers get an email automatically when their order status changes — no spreadsheets or follow-up calls.

Clear numbers for your treasurer

Sales appear in real time and sit alongside your donations, event tickets and memberships, with buyer records kept in the same supporter database. That makes it easy to pull store results into your treasurer's report.

HOW WE HELP

  3. 3Set shipping and pickupChoose a flat shipping rate and pickup options that fit your calendar, like drill weekends or the state conference.
  4. 4Launch and promoteAdd the store to your website, then promote it through email, social media and QR codes at unit visits and events.
  5. 5Fulfill and reportTrack and fulfill orders from the dashboard, and fold store results into your treasurer's report.

GOOD TO KNOW

Notes for your treasurer

  • Merchandise purchases usually aren't fully tax-deductible for the buyer, because they receive something of value. Zeffy lets you set what portion of a price, if any, is deductible.
  • If your association earns more than $1,000 a year in unrelated business income, it may need to file IRS Form 990-T. Apparel tied to your mission and membership generally isn't treated as unrelated business income, but confirm with your tax preparer.
  • Sales tax rules for merchandise vary by state, so check your state's requirements before you launch.
