Retiree Affairs Committee
Serves retired members and keeps them connected.
MISSION
Represent retired Army and Air Guard members, keep them informed on the benefits that affect them, and keep them engaged in the association.
WHO SERVES
A chair and vice chair appointed by the president, plus one Army and one Air Guard member from each region or chapter. The president serves as an ex-officio member.
Core responsibilities
- Report to the board on findings from Guard retiree events in each region
- Report on tasks or recommendations where the association can help with policies affecting retired Guard members
- Present a report at the annual conference

Ideas for an active committee
- Host retiree luncheons or reunions
- Share information on retirement pay, TRICARE, the Survivor Benefit Plan and state retiree benefits
- Help members in the gap between retiring and drawing retirement pay understand their benefits
- Recognize retirees at the conference
- Recruit retirees as mentors, volunteers and committee members
- Connect retirees with VA, state veterans affairs and other resources
