Membership Committee
Recruits new members and keeps current members engaged.
MISSION
Grow and retain the association's membership, and give leaders accurate data on who's joining, who's renewing and where.
WHO SERVES
A chair and vice chair appointed by the president, plus one Army and one Air Guard member from each region or chapter. The president serves as an ex-officio member.
Core responsibilities
- Issue a quarterly report to the board showing membership increases and decreases by region
- Identify chapters or states that are behind on dues payments
- Present an annual report at the annual conference

SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES
Ideas for an active committee
- Brief the association's value at drill, unit visits and leadership meetings
- Hand out membership applications and resource cards at every event
- Run a recruiting drive with incentives, like a member-get-a-member contest
- Send renewal reminders before memberships lapse, and follow up on those that do
- Promote life memberships
- Send every new member a welcome email or packet
- Keep membership data clean and up to date in a member database
- Survey members on which benefits matter most
